Lots of Big Peach Twins News and Please Take a Minute to Answer Survey

5 Months:

Can you believe it’s almost been 5 months since we started this Kickstarter and already so much has happened. And it’s only about 5 more months until all the illustrations are done and the book is finished!

Help Us To Help You (Survey):

If you are a parent or know parents, please help us to help you. Please click (send to your parent friends) on the link below, this survey should take a minute or less.https://usccollege.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3Q28OgEpJrjdgUJ

Thanks to everyone who helped edit the book so now it is in its final written format and the only thing left to do is finish the illustrations. David has been busy drawing away to complete the artwork by the deadline.

PBS interview:

For those of you who donate to PBS you should be receiving a newsletter sometime in November that will be featuring me and our Kickstarter. Ted Libbey and I spoke about how PBS made such a large impact in my life growing up with shows like Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow that it made me want to give back to the organization. We vow to give a majority of the profits from the book to the PBS foundation so that they can continue to produce quality children’s programming. More about this to come!

Recently I was also interviewed by Entrepreneurs Today Podcast with Toni Guffei. It was a great experience that I was able to speak more about helping parents and children. if you are interested take a listen at http://entrepreneurtalkshow.podomatic.com/entry/2013-10-08T15_16_02-07_00.

Book Publishing Conference:

Last weekend I went to a book publishing workshop and learned a lot about the ins and outs of the publishing industry, set some partnerships and might now have a publisher for our book. A lot of it is still up in the air but it was a great learning experience and definitely helps us build momentum to our project.

As always if you have any questions or comments let us know. Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend!

P.S. sorry for the lack of pictures but it seems Kickstarter changed how you can add them.

Peach Twins Kickstarter Update (With Illustration)

As of now I have begun working on final artwork for the Peach Twins book. There has been a little bit of a learning curve using a tablet like this (and it’s had a share of hardware/software issues continuing even now). But the artwork I am working on for the book right now, I think, is probably far superior to what I would have been able to do without it. My productivity with it is increasing with each passing day while I get more used to using it as I ramp up to do the truly massive amount of artwork needed to finish the over 80 full color illustrations. I’ve been working late into the night to really try and get this PEACH rolling (I was up till 1am working last night and will likely do the same tonight!)

I hope you all enjoy what we have in store for you, here is a small TASTE of what’s to come. (Get it?)

These are small close ups of parts of a larger background I’ve been working on for a page. Look for more artwork updates from me in the coming weeks, I wont be posting all of it (there needs to be some surprises when you open the book right?). But I will have probably have something new for you to see every time I post an update from now on, so stay tuned!

Thank you all again for your support. This art work is being made for you, because it was made possible by you. Thank you again!

Kickstarter Update – Train Derailment?

Hello Everyone,

I hope you enjoyed your 4th of July and weekend. We went to my aunt’s house and enjoyed family, food and fireworks.  Good time was had by all.

I am happy to saw we received the Wacom tablet, which had quite an adventure getting to us. It would be interesting to hear what happened but this is the first time I’ve seen weather conditions and a train derailment for something I’ve ordered (See below).

Latham, NY, United States 07/02/2013 9:00 A.M. Network disruption due to prior weather conditions, check ups.com for further updates.

Latham, NY, United States 07/01/2013 7:00 P.M. Train derailment.

My only guess is something like this happened:

I’m hoping no one got hurt in the process. The good news is the tablet was in 3 boxes, so most likely it sustained no injuries. We tried to get the Wacom tablet working, but it appears that our computer, which is running Window’s Vista, is not compatible. We are now in the process of backing up our computer and choosing to buy Windows 7 or 8, any suggestions?

Also other good news, Kurland Education, Inc is now up and running and we own thewww.kurlandeducation.com site. This company will be the foundation for creating all the educational tools and resources we want to provide with the Peach Twins book as well as future programs.

Other goings on, we are still fixing the house up from all the plumbing issues, I guess for $10k they don’t fix the holes they make to get to the piping, so now we are looking for someone to install tile and patch a hole in the wall, before they can reinstall the toilet and sink.

I am also still looking at microphones or recording studios, after some suggestions I am leaning the recording studio way, anyone have any good recommendations for a place in LA?

Thank you again for being awesome by making this all happen!

As always let us know any questions or comments you have.

36 Hours left for the Peach Twins Kickstarter! A $2000 check is on the line.

36 hours left before the Peach Twins Kickstarter is over and we have $2000 riding on the line. We need $1,454 to get it.

If you were one of the 49 people left who have said they were going to pledge but have yet to, please do so soon. If all 49 of you pledge $30 each we will get that extra $2000.

We need your help and support to help empower parents and children. Also, all of our backers will get MAJOR discounts for our future books and materials. Thank you!

Whooo Hooo! With 152 Backers we are up to $8400! We need $1600 more in 5 days.

We can do this but only with Your Help!  With 5 days left, we have the opportunity to meet our stretch goal to get the Peach Twins Children’s book to you and children everywhere faster (March 2014) and to create an Audio Book version!

If you haven’t yet please make a pledge!

If there are rewards you were interested in before but didn’t go for them do so now 🙂

If you haven’t already contacted your one friend or family member that would be interested in supporting their children and children everywhere please do so now, we really need your help to raise the additonal $1600 to reach our goal.

To make it easy, you can copy and paste this email about our Peach Twins project:

Hello _________,

My friend, Dr. Michael Kurland, has committed his life to creating educational resources to help children live their dreams. He has launched an amazing Kickstarter project called Peach Twins: The Empowering Lovable Children’s Book. The book is designed to make reading fun for the whole family. They’re only a few thousand away from their stretch goal to get the book sent to us faster and the creation of an audio book to go with the book.

They only have 5 days to reach their goal but I know they can do it. Please take a look at the project and if you like it, back it. For $30 you will receive the book before anyone else and the Kurland brothers said they would create additional resources for parents and children using the book for you to help your children. Take a look at their project and video here:http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kurland/peach-twins-the-empowering-lovable-childrens-book

Thank you, (Your name)

Thank you sooooo much!

Also, if you have any connections to parenting blogs or PR outlets, I am available for interviews.

We can reach our $10k goal and create the additional resources and audio book that we are meant to produce!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

-Kurland Brothers
